The Hunley was one of
working subs.
It was made to sink the Housatonic. It carried a bomb on top
of it to sink ships If needed to ,but mostly it was for sinking the Housatonic.
Then at the night of February,1864 at about 8:50 the Housatonic and the Hunley
sank to a watery grave.
