Look-Away Hall is probably the city's most familiar landmark in North Augusta.
It was built by Mr. Walter Jackson in 1895 and was modeled after Barrington
Hall of Roswell. Look-Away was constructed on part of the estate
of Robert Butler. In 1936 Dr. and Mrs. Henry G. Mealing bought the property
from Walter Jackson's daughter-in-law. Improvements made by the Mealings
have contributed to living comforts. The architectural integrity
of the beautiful home in the fork between Georgia and Carolina Avenues
has been maintained and offers to all a wonderful opportunity to observe
and experience the past.
