Building the HUNLEY final sinking uncovered steering rod

Main

It was built in 1863 in Mobile Alabama

The Hunley was 39.5 feet long, 4 feet wide and five feet deep.

Did you know that only a  candle acted as an oxygen sensor?

That candle was also the only source of light in the submarine.

It could only stay submerged for 25 minutes!

A snorkel was used to draw in fresh air when the submarine was close enough to the surface.
