In 1827 the Cape Romain lighthouse was 65 feet tall. 

The current lighthouse was built in 1856 and is 150 feet tall.

It is still standing today. 

It used a 1st order Fresnel lens. 

The lighthouse is off limits to visitors. 

In 1947 it was replaced with light house buoys.
