Peace Center

Located on Main Street in downtown Greenville, it is a true symbol of the arts enriched city that Greenville is. The Peace Center was built in 1990 at a cost of $42 million. The Roger C. Peace family, whom the Peace Center is named after for their philanthropic efforts, donated ten million dollars. The donation was the largest private donation in the history of American philanthropy. Many Broadway plays, such as Cats and Les Miserables, and other artists have performed there. From the time its doors opened, it has inspired Main Street and the West End and has set the stage for Greenville's artistic community.
