Roper Mountain Science Center is owned by the School District of Greenville County. Partnership of public ownership, corporate sponsorship, private support, and volunteers all help to keep the Center open. The Center's main focus is to help improve learning and growth opportunities with interactive programs for students, teachers, and the general public. During the summer there are a large number of mini-courses that children may participate in. There are many courses including rocketry, seashore critters, kitchen chemistry and many more. During the year, each week, many school children tour the center. On "Starry Nights" which are Friday nights and every second Saturday, the center is open to the public. |
