The Harbour Town Lighthouse was built in 1970. The lighthouse stands 90 feet tall. It was built as a symbol for the Sea Pines Plantation development. The lighthouse guides boats in from the waterway on the mainland side of the island. Every 2.5 seconds a white light flashes from the top of the lighthouse.
