Mrs. Wanda Hart

Mrs. Wanda Hart attended Wright Elementary School from 1965-1966.  She remembers that her first grade teacher was Mrs. Hall.  She respected her teachers and she also was afraid of getting in trouble with the principal.  She remembers that school was fun and they colored a lot.  There was only one class per grade with the same class all day.  She remembers having about the same size classes as we have today.  She also remembers having some of the same furniture that we have today.  The school has changed some too since she went to school here.  Wright Elementary now has more technology and has added a gym during the new renovations.

She has a particular memory of first grade. She remembers getting in trouble with the teacher.  She ran behind the bookcase in the back with the teacher after her.  She somehow slipped out of the room and walked home.  She only lived a short distance from the school.

She also remembers the great Halloween Carnivals.  She remembers being scared in the spook room when Mrs. Brenda Snipes walked her through to feel grapes for eyeballs and other gooey things for body parts.  She also remembers getting her fortune told by Mrs. Grace Gambrell Ellis and Mrs. Ethel Alewine.
